- How fast are you running?
- The track workouts have three different groups: 5:30-6:00 min/mile; 7:30-8:30 min/mile and
10:00-12:00 min/mile. The Saturday long runs are 7:30-8:30; 9:00-10:00 and 12:00+
- How fast are you swimming?
- Most swimmers are between 1:20 and 2:30 min/100 yards. We also have a few really beginners
and they are getting better and faster every week!
- How far are you swimming?
- Every workout is between 2000 and 3500 yards. Beginners swim up to 1000-1200.
- How far are you running?
- Track workouts are usually 3-4 miles, the tempo run is 4 miles and the long runs are 7 to 14 with a
few 20+ runs for marathon runners.
- How much does it cost?
- The membership fee is $50/year. There is an additional swim-fee to cover the pool-rental. The fee
depends on how many people sign up for the swim program. Cycling is free and you have to pay
your own entry fee to the climbing gym.
- Who are the members?
- Most of the runners are 23 to 35, the swimmers are 25 to 65. 60% women, 40% men. Mostly
runners, some swimmers and a few triathletes. Mostly beginners and intermediate folks with a few
fast and experienced athletes. The group was formed almost a year ago so everyone is new.
- I'm not a runner or swimmer. Can I join?
- Yes, we're looking for active and motivated folks. We'll turn you into a runner/swimmer/triathlete:)
- I'm not training for a specific event. Can I join?
- Most of us joined the group to have fun, meet new people and stay healthy. But we do train hard!
- What else do you do?
- We run almost every day, swim 3 times, ride on the weekends, climb, go out for breakfast
every Saturday, race some weekends and travel to different out of state events…
- Why "Blue Pants"?
- Because Homer Simpson wears blue pants. It's that simple.
- How do I join?
- Come and visit us at any scheduled workout. We do something every day! If you come back again
you'll get a BPR t-shirt.
